Under the Hood: How We Made SSDown 3x Faster in 2024 (Infrastructure Update)

The Need for Speed
As SSDown grew globally, our central servers hit a bottleneck. We decided to rebuild.
1. Global Edge Nodes (CDN Expansion)
Previously, a user in Tokyo had to connect to a US server (200ms+ latency). New Architecture:
- Tokyo (JP), Singapore (SG), Frankfurt (DE), São Paulo (BR) nodes deployed.
- Result: Latency reduced by 70%.
2. The "Bilibili Engine" Rewrite (GPU)
Bilibili separates audio and video tracks. Merging them (Remuxing) kills CPU. Solution: We implemented a GPU-Accelerated Transcoding Pipeline.
- Moved tasks to specialized transcoding cards.
- Result: Bilibili 1080p/60fps processing is 4x faster.
3. TikTok AI Parser
TikTok changes its code daily to block downloaders. Solution: We built an AI-Assisted Parser that monitors the site and "self-heals" when the HTML structure changes. This ensures 99.9% uptime.
4. 10Gbps Bandwidth
We upgraded from 1Gbps to 10Gbps ports per server. Even if you have Fiber internet, we can saturate your connection.
